Take Action for the Chuitna!

Dear Alaska Department of Natural Resources and US Army Corps of Engineers:

I urge you to deny permits for the Chuitna Coal Strip Mine because it will permanently destroy 13.7 miles of important wild salmon streams in Cook Inlet.

Permitting this first-of-its-kind proposal to mine directly through a salmon stream would set a dangerous precedent for the future of salmon in our state. Our wild salmon waters are critical to our way of life, and we shouldn't allow companies to mine through them to send coal overseas.
